This morning in the President’s Cafe, 23 exceptional QHS Health Care Technology seniors were recognized and celebrated during the annual Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Pinning Ceremony. We were pleased to welcome students, staff, and families as well as Mr. Ford and Mr. Keith Segalla (QPS Executive Director, Career Vocational and Technical Education) and our esteemed guest speaker, Katheryn Cullinane-Whalen DPN, RN, FAHA, Assistant Dean of Nursing at Quincy College.

A Certified Nursing Assistant is a health care professional who provides direct care and assistance to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. CNAs typically work in various health care settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health care. Being a CNA requires compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills. CNAs often work closely with patients, providing hands-on care and forming important relationships with them. They play a vital role in the health care team, providing crucial support to nurses and contributing to the overall well-being and comfort of patients.

We commend our students, who completed their training and certification requirements as part of Quincy High’s comprehensive Health Care Technology program. They have demonstrated exceptional dedication and competence in their health care studies, preparing themselves to contribute to the ever-evolving field. With their well-rounded skill set, these students possess a distinct advantage as they embark on their journey in the health care industry. We wish them all the best as they continue their careers beyond QHS!
