We want to congratulate the QNQ Jazz ensemble on another silver medal performance while attending the MAJE sponsored Jazz Competition on Thursday march 9th at Reading High School. Outstanding musicianship award were given to Kaitlyn Vu on alto sax, Jack Pickering on Tenor Sax, and Dominque Dang on Upright Bass. The group played pieces by African American composers an Jazz legends Benny Carter, Duke Ellington, and Charles Mingus. Congrats to the entire QNQ Jazz Ensemble on a terrific competition season!
On Thursday, 3/2, the QNQ Jazz Ensemble attended the MAJE (Massachusetts Association for Jazz Educators)-sponsored jazz competition at Canton High School. This is only the second time that this group has attended a competition of this caliber, and we want to congratulate them on scoring a silver medal!
QHS students in the ensemble include: Brynn Toler (Alto Sax), Cemre Gumus (Alto Sax), Marcus MacDonald (Tenor Sax), Nathan Aronoff (Tenor Sax), Kenneth Reale (Bari Sax), Ethan Earnest (Trumpet), James Mullen (Trombone), Ariel Nguyen (Trombone), Jesse Bollinger (Guitar), Lyna Dang (Vibraphone), Vito Guarino (Drum Set)
Outstanding musicianship awards were given to Ethan Earnest on trumpet, Kenneth Reale on Bari Saxophone, and Jesse Bollinger on guitar.
We congratulate the entire QNQ ensemble and wish them luck next week on their competition at Reading High School on Thursday, 3/9.
