Quincy High School held its 2023 graduation ceremony on Monday night; 404 students received their diplomas at Veterans Memorial Stadium, marking the end of their high school journey and the beginning of their new adventures.
We welcomed distinguished guests, including Mayor Thomas P. Koch, Senator John Keenan, the Quincy School Committee, and City Council President Noel DiBona, at the ceremony. Mayor Koch, Mr. Frank Santoro, and Mr. DiBona offered short remarks to the graduating class.
Class of 2023 Salutatorian Caroline Tracey addressed her peers, encouraging them to take their shot at new experiences.
Class President Deekshita Madhalam reflected on the challenges of being a high schooler during the COVID-19 pandemic and how the class persevered.
Valedictorian Christian Nguyen delivered a speech emphasizing the definition of “home” as those people around her rather than the physical edifices–and how the communities of her Post Island neighborhood and QHS have offered her a “home.” She expressed her wish that her fellow members of the Class of 2023 have a “home” as they move beyond Quincy High.
The ceremony was a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and the immense potential of the Class of 2023. As our graduates embark on their future endeavors, they do so equipped with the knowledge, experiences, and friendships gained during their time at Quincy High School. We congratulate the QHS Class of 2023!
