Quincy High School
2026 Summer Reading & Course Work
Students have several options for accessing their summer reading titles. One option is to search the Thomas Crane Public Library catalog, which is part of the Old Colony Library Network. To check out a physical copy of a book, students will need a Thomas Crane Library card. If a book is not available at a Thomas Crane branch, students may be able to request it through interlibrary loan within the Old Colony Library Network, allowing materials to be borrowed from other participating libraries and delivered to their preferred branch for pickup. For access to electronic books (ebooks) or audiobooks, an eLibrary card may be used. To apply for a Thomas Crane eLibrary card, students can use the provided link. Students and families may also visit or contact any Thomas Crane Public Library branches for assistance, including information about branch locations, hours of operation, and available services.
Another resource is the Boston Public Library catalog, which also contains many summer reading titles. To access BPL’s ebook collections, students may apply for a BPL eLibrary card.
In addition to these options, many summer reading books are available through OverDrive, an online service offering ebooks and audiobooks. Students can access OverDrive using their QPS OverDrive login, which is available through their QHS Google account. For more detailed instructions, students should refer to the QHS Sora Access Tutorial.
**Except where specifically labeled as REQUIRED, all reading on this list is recommended for student enjoyment. REQUIRED reading will be used and possibly assessed in class in September. The other readings are for student enrichment only. Students should feel free to read as many of those as they wish.
