Attendance & Absence Reporting

Attendance and Absence Reporting

Report an Absence: Please call (617) 376-3361 or (617) 376-3360

Regular school attendance is fundamental for a student’s academic success and personal growth. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to learn the material, participate in class discussions, and complete assignments.

Excessive absences may impact a student's academic standing and eligibility for certain extracurricular activities. We encourage parents/guardians to prioritize regular attendance to ensure their child's academic progress and overall well-being.

Please see the Quincy Public Schools Attendance Policies Page for more detailed information and our school attendance policy

Absence Reporting

If your child is absent from school, please contact the attendance office as soon as possible. You may call (617) 376-3361 or (617) 376-3360.

When you contact the attendance office, please provide the following information:

  • Your child's name

  • Your child's grade level

  • The date of your child's absence

  • The reason for your child's absence

Following the absence, parents/guardians must provide written documentation, such as a note from a doctor for medical absences or a letter explaining the reason for the absence.
