On Friday, QHS hosted a successful Women in Trades Summit, bringing together 11 women from various trade unions, organizations, and occupations to share their experiences, challenges, and insights on pursuing careers in the trades with our female CVTE students. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to engage in open discussions and learn about the realities of working in traditionally male-dominated industries.
The guest speakers offered candid advice on overcoming bias, self-advocacy, and the importance of hard work as a key strategy for success. Following the discussion, QHS students took the visitors on a tour of the school's CVTE shops before a group lunch, all of which allowed for continued networking and conversation.
