Special Education at Quincy High School
Special Education classes at QHS are instructed by certified teachers and follow the same core curriculum for English, Math, Science and Social Studies. The pace and rigor of the courses are tailored appropriately to the students’ individual needs as identified in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs.)
Special Ed. faculty members are also co-teachers in Inclusion classes offered in other departments. The department also offers Strategies for Learning, a support course that reviews and reinforces the content and skills covered in content-area classes.
QHS also hosts the Personalized Academic and Career Exploration (PACE) Program, a substantially separate special education program for students with language-based learning disabilities.
