Quincy Public Schools and our partners were pleased to host the 16th Annual Credit For Life Fair at the Tirrell Room today. The event was an incredible success, providing our seniors with an enlightening experience in real-world financial decision-making! Students were assigned a hypothetical salary and tasked with making informed choices to effectively manage their finances based on their income level.
Students visited various booths hosted by volunteers from the Quincy School-Community Partnership, including local businesses, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations. Students explored financial products and services, such as housing, transportation, insurance, and education options, helping them understand the complexities of balancing expenses in adulthood.
Students also encountered unexpected financial challenges, like car repairs or too many dinners eaten out at restaurants. These scenarios tested their budgeting skills and demonstrated the importance of financial preparedness.
This event always sparks meaningful conversations and encourages students to think critically about financial planning and we are thankful to our teachers, administrators, community partners, and volunteers for making it possible!
