On Tuesday, we celebrated the unveiling of the "Anchor Fit Zone" at Atlantic Middle School. This state-of-the-art fitness room was made possible through the collaboration between the Boston Celtics and Boston Scientific in their annual "Fit For a Cause" program.
Funded by a $50,000 grant, the "Anchor Fit Zone" provides our students with an outstanding facility to focus on their physical well-being. Atlantic Middle School students earned this opportunity by outperforming other area schools in a series of virtual fitness challenges.
The unveiling event was an exciting one: students got the chance to shoot hoops with Boston Celtics legend Brian Scalabrine and witness some spectacular freestyle dunking by Lucky and his Flight Crew. They also participated in some physical challenges to earn rewards, including autographed basketballs.
Among our special guests were Kash Cannon, Director of Community Engagement for the Celtics, Tome Barros, Community Engagement Manager for the Celtics, and Mary Beth Moynihan, Chief Marketing Officer at Boston Scientific.
We are grateful to our community partners, who are both committed to promoting fitness and community engagement. Thank you for investing in the well-being and future of our students, making the "Anchor Fit Zone" an incredible asset for Atlantic Middle School!
